Noa A. Mills Annual Scholarship
Scholarship Essay Requirements
As part of your application for the Noa A. Mills Annual Scholarship, applicants are required to submit a personal essay that allows the selection committee to better understand who you are, what drives you, and the impact you hope to make in your community and beyond.
Essay Guidelines
Please submit a one-page essay that meets the following requirements and submit it via email to hello@poolofbethesda.org
- Length: One page maximum
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font Size: 12-point
- Spacing: Single or double spaced (either is acceptable)
- File Format: PDF or Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
Your essay should address the following:
- Your Philosophy of Life
- What core values guide your decisions?
- What principles have shaped the person you are today?
- Your Educational Journey
- What degree or field of study are you pursuing?
- Why did you choose this educational path?
- What experiences inspired this decision?
- Your Vision for the Future
- Where do you see yourself after completing your education?
- What goals are you working toward professionally and personally?
- Your Intended Impact
- How do you hope to make a meaningful difference through your career, leadership, or service?
- If selected as a Noa A. Mills Scholar, how will this scholarship help you further your mission and expand your impact?
Selection
The committee is looking for applicants who demonstrate authenticity, purpose, leadership, and a commitment to creating positive change. Your essay should provide thoughtful reflection and clearly communicate your aspirations, character, and vision for the future.
